CustomerNation abides by the principles outlined in the Safe Harbor framework as set forth by the U.S Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of data from the European Union.  At CustomerNation, you own your Personally Identifiable Information, not us or anyone else. CustomerNation will not distribute your Personally Identifiable Information to any 3rd Party without your explicit permission. At CustomerNation, you control and govern how your information is used. For the first time ever, CustomerNation gives consumers and end-users  one simple solution for staying connected with the people behind the products you own – and the things you care about most – via your own customer account (i.e. eBox™) that is private, permission-based and geared to enhance your life as a consumer or end-user. CustomerNation is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe's certification covers this Web site's gathering and dissemination of information not any third party services, products or software used in association with this technology.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should first contact the CustomerNation Member Services department via e-mail at info@customernation.com. If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry or your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed, you should then contact TRUSTe http://www.truste.org/consumers/watchdog_complaint.php. TRUSTe will then serve as a liaison with the Web site to resolve your concerns.

This privacy statement explains what information is collected by CustomerNation, how it is collected, and with whom information may be shared. It also lets you know your options regarding the use of your information, the measures we have undertaken to protect the security of your records, and instructions regarding how you may access, correct, or change your records. More importantly, this policy explains how you control your personal information, while permitting effective communication with participating manufacturers, retailers and affiliates regarding the purchases you make as a consumer and the things you care about when interacting with an organization. CustomerNation puts you in control of your Personally Identifiable Information and how it is used whenever you register a product or record an item into your eBox™. The reason is simple. At CustomerNation, along with our growing family of participating manufacturers, retailers, affiliates and organizations that you interact with on a day-to-day basis, we put customers first!

1. What Information Is Collected:
As a data management service, CustomerNation receives information from you that identifies you and the products you own – as well as any other important items you decide to put into your eBox™.  The Information collected using the technology consists of two basic types:

"Personally Identifiable Information" refers to any information that identifies you or can be used to contact you, and includes your name, street address, e-mail address, and seven-digit phone number.

"Anonymous Information" refers to information, which alone may not identify you, and includes both (i) demographic and (ii) product or item specific information. Demographic information is information such as a person’s age, income, city, state, ZIP code, area code, gender, purchase history, and so forth.  Demographic information does not include any personally identifiable information that can be used to contact you.  Product or item information is information about the specific products you own, such as the products' model numbers, serial numbers, places of purchase, and so forth.  It may also include items that you as an end user wish to communicate about with an organization, such as a service or a subscription.
The first time you register a product or record an item into your eBox™ you will be presented with a registration form.  If you are on-line, it will be presented to you directly.  If you are talking to an authorized agent using the eBox™ technology, it will be presented to the agent on your behalf.  When you register products or record items using eBox™ for the very first time, we ask that you submit Personally Identifiable Information, so that we can create and maintain your eBox™. When setting up your private eBox™ account, we do ask for your e-mail address, which we need for data integrity purposes, for example to protect the security of your data should you forget or misplace your username and password. But as we will discuss below, we will strictly protect your e-mail address and will never disclose it to others unless you tell us to do so.

CustomerNation collects Anonymous Information from you when you complete online registration forms when registering products or recording items into your eBox™. When registering products or recording items into your eBox™ you will be prompted to provide demographic, product or item specific information so as to facilitate the communication that you have requested.  Providing such information is optional, but if you decline to provide this information, be aware that you may be losing out on some of the benefits of eBox™ as an effective communication tool with the 3rd parties using the technology.  For example, if you decline to provide product information such as model numbers and serial numbers, you may be unable to gain the benefits of a manufacturer's warranty or related customer support services. It is always your option whether or not to provide demographic and product ownership or item specific information, but we encourage you to do so, enabling participating manufacturers, retailers, affiliates and other organizations to provide a more personalized and meaningful experience for you.

IP Logs
CustomerNation uses information such as IP addresses, ISPs, browser types, linking information, and other logs to analyze trends, administer CustomerNation.com, and track Web site activity. Such information will not be linked to your Personally Identifiable Information.

Links to Other Sites
This Privacy Policy covers CustomerNation's treatment of Information that CustomerNation collects when setting up your eBox™ and enabling you to register products or record items into your eBox™. It does not cover the privacy practices of other third parties that you may choose to give your Personally Identifiable Information to when using the service.

CustomerNation gives you the option to link to other Web sites from our site. This Privacy Policy applies solely to CustomerNation and not to those sites linked through our services. We encourage members of CustomerNation to be on guard when linking from or leaving CustomerNation. Be advised to read the privacy policy of every Web site you visit and that asks for your personal information. CustomerNation's Privacy Policy does not apply to those situations where you choose to have your Personally Identifiable Information given to third Parties.

2. How Information Is Used:
CustomerNation uses your Information to provide data management services to manufacturers, retailers, affiliates and other organizations that subscribe to eBox™.  The Information gathered by CustomerNation using eBox™ permits you to communicate with our subscribing organizations even in ways that do not require the use of your Personally Identifiable Information.

The use of your primary e-mail address is strictly guarded. In fact, many consumers and end-users use CustomerNation for the simple fact that CustomerNation consolidates the constant forms of communication that can take place following a person's product purchase or expressed item of importance.  CustomerNation will only use your e-mail address when administering your eBox™ account or - when selected – sending you personalized news about your eBox™. When administering your eBox™, CustomerNation sends all new members a welcoming e-mail to the e-mail address provided by the new member when first registering or recording an item into their eBox™. Also, if a member has chosen to receive personalized news related to his OR her eBox™, CustomerNation will send personalized news to the member's e-mail address that will update the member on content related to those products registered or items recorded into their eBox™. This may include newly posted Web links for products a member owns, product news and event information, service alerts, special offers, and so on.  Out of ongoing respect for people's privacy, we give members the option of not receiving personalized news about their eBox™ to their email address.

3. Sharing of Information:
When registering a product or recording an item into your eBox™ we facilitate the submission of your Information to the manufacturer, retailer, affiliate or organization concerning that communication. The Information in the registration form is what is transferred, as directed by you, when you submit that registration form. Your Personally Identifiable Information is only transferred to any one of these 3rd parties when you submit a specific registration or record a specific item with that 3rd party. Each registration or recorded item using CustomerNation technology will give you the ability to express your preferences for communication with that particular manufacturer, retailer, affiliate or organization, however each company is governed by it's own privacy practices and privacy statements.

CustomerNation only functions as a data management service provider for our business clients and does not use your Information for its own marketing purposes. Under no circumstances will CustomerNation share your Personally Identifiable Information with any other 3rd Party without your specific approval. CustomerNation only retains the right to use Anonymous Information as already defined, so as to enrich your eBox™ experience and better communicate with those 3rd parties you have given permission to use your Personally Identifiable Information.
CustomerNation may disclose information to law enforcement under court order or subpoena.

4. Your Options Regarding The Use of Your Information:
CustomerNation uses cookies on our site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive containing login information about you (for example, your member name and password). This piece of data is uniquely yours. Cookies enable seamless travel throughout CustomerNation without your needing to fill out registration forms and other information you have already provided on a previous visit. CustomerNation primarily uses your cookie for security purposes. Our cookie will not track your actions outside of the CustomerNation Web site, and will be deleted each time you log off CustomerNation. The only time a cookie will be saved to your computer is if you choose to save your login information to your computer for enabling auto login. The cookie does not contain any Personally Identifiable Information.

CustomerNation will use your Information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was received. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will prominently post any changes on the CustomerNation Web site so that you will be aware of them. It will be your choice as to whether or not we are permitted to use your Information in a materially different manner. If at any point we desire to use your Information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time it was received, we will contact you via email.

This Privacy Policy discusses CustomerNation's information practices in the ordinary course of doing business.  CustomerNation may transfer all data in its possession, including data you provide such as Personally Identifiable Information, to a successor-in-interest to CustomerNation's business or assets. However, any such successor-in-interest will be bound by the same terms of this Privacy Policy. And in such a circumstance, CustomerNation will notify all members by e-mail about the transfer of their Personally Identifiable Information.

5. Data Security:
CustomerNation takes every precaution to protect your records. CustomerNation employees may access your Information on a need-to-know basis only. Your Information is password protected for your privacy and security. The servers on which we store your Information are kept in a secure environment with restricted access.

6. Correcting Any Inaccuracies in Your Information:
If any of your Information changes or otherwise needs to be corrected, or if you no longer desire to use CustomerNation technology for your data management needs, we will provide a way to access, correct, or updateany of your Information previously provided by you to 3rd parties and stored on our systems. You may do so after logging in to your eBox™ and selecting "My Profile" to make these changes.

7. Co-Branded Sites:
A private labeled version of your eBox™ can be licensed by a subscribing manufacturer, retailer, affiliate or other 3rd party organization. As a convenience to CustomerNation members, this enables consumers and end-users to access a customized version of his or her eBox™ at participating Web sites throughout the Internet.  All of your Information transacted through these private labeled versions of CustomerNation's technology, fall under the same CustomerNation Privacy Policy, as stated herein.
